Postdoctoral position in the Fujinaga/Peterlin laboratories - University of California San Francisco
We have a postdoctoral position studying mechanisms of eukaryotic gene expression at the step of transcription elongation. Our research focuses mainly on HIV and haematopoietic systems.
Potential projects include:
- HIV latency and reactivation to establish “shock and kill” strategy.
- Designing and testing P-TEFb-inhibitory peptides that specifically block different transcription factors including HIV Tat and NFkB.
- Cellular innate immunity mediated by PIWIL proteins.
- CTD kinases that are required for transcriptional elongation and 3’ end formation, namely PTEFb, CycK:CDK12 and CycL:CDK11.
- Role of P-TEFb in inflammation.
- Regulation of P-TEFb in resting and activated T cells.
