Postdoctoral Fellows - Feldman lab, Washington University School of Medicine - St Louis

Postdoctoral

The Feldman Laboratory at the Department of Molecular Microbiology, Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to study the pathogenesis of the multidrug resistant bacterium Acinetobacter baumannii. The Feldman Lab employs biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and structural biology to examine host-pathogen and bacteria-bacteria interactions. These positions are funded by NIH.
The goals are to: (1) understand the molecular basis of Acinetobacter infections, in particular urinary tract infections; and (2) to investigate the mechanisms employed by this bacterium to outcompete other bacterial species, such as the type VI secretion system (T6SS).
Successful applicants should have a strong background in microbiology and biochemistry or molecular biology. Excellent communication skills and previous first-author publications in internationally recognized journals are required.
