Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center invites applications for an open faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Pathogen Associated Malignancies Integrated Research Center. We seek a laboratory-based scientist working in the area of cancer caused by pathogens, or in the role of the microbiome in cancer. This person will have a primary appointment in the Human Biology Division and share its goals to advance an understanding of the biological basis of cancer and to translate findings to the clinic.

We seek applicants conducting research in one or more of the following areas: molecular mechanisms of cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis by viruses or bacteria; the role of the microbiome in cancer; molecular mechanisms of disparities in cancer biology; cancers relevant to underdeveloped countries; novel therapeutics and mechanisms of drug resistance.

Excellent collaborative opportunities exist for joint and/or affiliate appointments in Fred Hutch Divisions of Clinical Research, Basic Sciences, Public Health Sciences, Translational Science and Therapeutics or Vaccine and Infectious Disease, as well as in several departments at the University of Washington, depending on mutual interests.

Qualifications

For consideration, applicants must have a doctoral degree and a substantial record of achievement in areas that include: molecular mechanisms of cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis by viruses or bacteria; the role of the microbiome in cancer, molecular mechanisms of disparities in cancer biology; cancers relevant to underdeveloped countries, novel therapeutics and mechanisms of drug resistance.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $165,000 to $393,196 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor rank and from $185,059 to $420,547 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank. Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and sign-on bonus.
