The Lin Research Group in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, seeks a postdoctoral researcher to develop new technologies for microbial strain engineering for industrially relevant applications. • Our long-term goal is to study and engineer microbial systems as enabling technologies for sustainable bio-manufacturing, or closely related to the environment and human health. • Our immediate objective of the new project is to extend and further develop a technology platform for high-throughput microbial strain engineering for two representative applications involving yeast and Bacillus. • The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who wants to drive their own research project while working closely with both laboratory coworkers and industrial collaborators. • The candidate will have completed, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. degree in chemical/biological engineering, microbiology, biochemistry, or another related field.

The candidate will join a dynamic research group located at the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) of the University of Michigan. Our group, and the Department as a whole, strives to provide a stimulating and collaborative research environment for all the trainees and to support their professional advancement.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter (1 page maximum) outlining their research background and interests, as well as a CV with the contact information for 3 references, to Dr. Xiaoxia “Nina” Lin at ninalin@umich.edu.
