The USDA, ARS, Cell Wall Biology and Utilization Research Unit of the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center in Madison, WI is seeking a permanent, full-time Microbiologist/Geneticist Animal/Animal Scientist to develop an innovative research program using microbiology, genomics, and bioinformatics to better understand the multifaceted relationships between the dairy animal rumen and gut microbial communities, and how these interact with dairy animal genotype/phenotype across diverse environmental and management factors. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary group of scientists focused on developing innovations in ruminant nutrition, plant molecular biology/biochemistry and microbiology to improve the nutritional value of forages and efficiency of dairy cows for enhanced production leading to more environmentally and economically sustainable dairy forage production systems.
