Dear Colleagues,

 

On behalf of our Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you and your laboratories to join us at the 2nd Annual(ish) Purdue Microbiome Symposium on May 9-11, here in West Lafayette. We are greatly looking forward to seeing you all in person again, and very much hope that you will be able to join us. Please see the attached Save-the-Date card for our keynote speaker lineup and location details.

 

Taking a page out of the International Symposium for Microbial Ecology playbook, our long-term goal is to catalyze a cross-institution, microbiome-centric academic community encompassing diverse environments, systems, and applications but which is highly accessible to students of all levels. Towards that end, we reserve a substantial portion of the academic program for presentations by early career researchers (including both students and junior faculty). Furthermore, we hope in the future that this meeting will rotate among institutions, loosely within driving distance of one another, to increase and maintain accessibility to laboratories of all maturities and funding levels. We are looking for others at other nearby institutions who might be interested in helping make this vision a reality – please do not hesitate to contact me if interested.
