Sukhmani's Ph.D. work was focused on identifying potential targets for anti-influenza drugs. After completion of her Ph.D. in 2019 in the laboratory of Dr. Akira Ono, she decided to further pursue her passion for infectious disease research and joined the Research and Development group at Seqirus, a company specializing in influenza vaccine development. Her work at Seqirus is focused on development of mRNA-based vaccines for influenza.
